Animal Welfare of the Albemarle Region Every Day, Inc. (AWARE) is a private, 501(c)3 non-profit corporation devoted to promoting control of animal overpopulation by sponsoring effective spay/neuter programs in our service area, and working to increase the save rate at the
Tri-County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, Tyner, NC.
We are Making a Difference!
Since our beginning in July 2009 and through June 2024, our programs have contributed to the spay or neuter of 1764 dogs and 4040 cats!
From 2009 through 2023, intake numbers at the Shelter have dropped by 48% and euthanasia numbers have declined by 55%!
